Professor Baicang Liu

Dr. Baicang Liu is at the College of Architecture and Environment, Institute of New Energy and Low-Carbon Technology, Sichuan University. He received his bachelor's degree from Wuhan University in 2004 and his Ph.D. degree from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2009. Then, he joined Sichuan University as an Assistant Professor (2009-2013), Associate Professor (2013-2018), and Professor (2018~). From 2011 to 2012, he worked in John C. Crittenden’s group at Georgia Tech as a Visiting Scholar. He has published over 120 papers. He was awarded 4 grants from National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and Sichuan University Outstanding Youth Foundation in 2016. He focusses on seeking membrane preparation formula to achieve breakthroughs in performance to achieve the effects of green chemistry and sustainable engineering, for saving the use of materials and chemicals; another strategy is to use the green solvent instead of a conventionally toxic solvent to fabricate the high-performance membranes. Shale gas flowback and produced water (FPW) on regional water quality and management strategies for reuse are critical for the sustainable development of the industry, which is also his special interest.
